Temple Gebang first discovered by local residents in November 1936, in the form of a Ganesha statue. On the basis of these reports, the Archaeological Service conducted research, that the Ganesha statue should not stand alone, but a part of a building. To follow up the results, then digging up around the Ganesha statue began. The conclusion the findings in the form of ruins of buildings which consist of the roof of the temple, a small fraction of the body and legs are still intact.
From the results of the excavation, then held the composition of the experiment in order to obtain the actual form of building construction.
